Overview
Context & Background

An individual project assessment, part of a Bachelor’s Computer Science degree. The objective was to design and develop any Android application that would be a helpful tool and could easily integrate into a person’s day-to-day life. It required using Map APIs, another API of choice, a unique gesture and persistent storage.

The Problem

A solution needed to be delivered that would easily integrate into an individual’s daily life to assist them, preferably when outside. During the COVID-19 Pandemic, there was a rise in interest towards mindfulness and fitness practises, and this solution could be a tool to help individuals improve their well-being.

After narrowing down the findings, similar pain points were found within the middle-aged demographic in regard to their commitment to the upkeep of their personal fitness and mindfulness practices, especially when working from home. There were many issues around finding the motivation to stay on track and many found it overwhelming to know where to start due to the influx of highly advanced fitness applications and technologies on the market.

The Solution

Research and design an app for people interested in improving their physical fitness as well as their mental wellness. Designs would need account for utilising dynamic data such as location and weather, whislt being simple and intuitive to cater to audiences of different backgrounds & experiences.
